    • Why Suntrap ?

We use the latest Technology with over 48 meters of copper heat absorber in every Suntrap Evacuated U Tube Solar Collector !!

Each collector's manifold and all copper U pipes are solidly constructed and welded as one completely sealed unit, and then pressure tested to 1,700 kpa (more than 3 times the maximum operating pressure). The Suntrap Solar collector has no removable connections, so no possible leaks, and is maintenance free. The solar heat generating evacuated glass tubes are just sleeves that push over the copper U Tubes. The high heating efficiency of the U Tube design is obtained because the solar heated water flows through the manifold AND down and up each and every evacuated U Tube, unlike other evacuated tube solar collectors.

A Suntrap Solar Hot Water system can save you up to 83% off your hot water heating costs every year in NSW.

Choosing the right Solar Hot water system

Many people believe that the best system to purchase would be the one with the most RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates). Please be aware that the number of RECs is based only on the energy saving for that system over a period of 10 years and has no regard to the number of people using that system. Purchasing a system based on the RECs value alone would be rather akin to purchasing a good value car with excellent economy, with no regard to the size of the family which will use it. Please consider the size of the household, the number of users of the hot water, the times and length of time that showers will be taken. Smaller tanks have a higher solar recovery time, but hold less water. Larger tanks hold more water, take longer to heat, but will service more people. During the summer months, if showers are taken at night, then the tank will have all day to heat by solar. During the winter months, the boost system will be used more, and a larger tank will allow a larger volume of water to be heated.

      Frost Tolerance

All Suntrap Solar Hot Water Systems are frost tolerant, and have been certified down to Minus 25 degrees centigrade.

All SUNTRAP Solar Hot Water Systems have been registered with the Office of Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) and certified to AS 2712 by SAI Global from 16th January 2009.The SAI Global Register may be viewed online by Clicking Here.

      Installations

Suntrap Pty Ltd specialise in selling Solar Hot Water kits direct from the factory to you.
We can also recommend plumbers for installations in many parts of NSW. Quotes for installations (free of charge) are usually subject to a site visit by a recommended plumber if you requested this on your Request a Quote. For an electric boost installation (single storey house, replace outside tank in original position, solar collectors less than 10 meters from tank, existing power point for solar controller) typical plumber prices start from approx $1,490.
